Ten days after the Russians were mysteriously killed in a crowd of tens of thousands at the Burning Man Festival, the man’s father asked President Trump to investigate the FBI.

Vadim Kruglov, 37, lives in Washington and was making his first pilgrimage to Burning Man, according to his Friends Instagram account. He was killed between 8pm and 9:30pm on the evening of August 30th, and his body was found “in a pool of blood” around the time a giant wooden statue of the man was lit up by the fire.

The Pershing County Sheriff’s Department, which has jurisdiction over the Black Rock Desert, where the annual event is held, is leading the murder investigation, but has not made public comments on what happened. The agency has information about “people committing such heinous crimes against other people.”

The agency also announced that Kurglov’s family has been formally notified of his death and will “go out to Vadim Kurglov’s family for their tragic losses, expressing our sincere pacity dol from the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office.”

The Sheriff’s Office declined to comment on his reporting on his father’s complaint or his criticism of the pace of the investigation.

The Moscow Times reported Thursday that the Prokremlin tabloids released a video from Kurglov’s father on Thursday.

In it, his father, Igor Kurglov, lamented that “10 days have passed” and that the investigation was “has been carried out by a local sheriff.”

“Evil must be punished,” the father continues, “so I will ask you to appeal to you, to the President, and to order the FBI to immediately begin an investigation into the murder of my son.”

Kruglov’s friends have pushed similar messages to tens of thousands of Instagram followers.

Kruglov “said he died in a fatal blow to the neck on a professional knife strike. This happened in a place where more than 80,000 people from all over the world gathered.” The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office either declined to comment on how Kruglov was killed, or stated whether a friend’s post was accurate.

The Instagram post included some photos of Kruglov having fun at the festival.

“A young, talented man who made a great contribution to this world has been killed,” a friend wrote. “And those who did this are still free to walk,” according to the post, “I strongly believe that a federal investigation is needed.”
