September 18, 2025 – In response to a request for comment, he told PCGamesn behaviorally: “We have a very solid policy that prevents anything generated by AI during the day, from what is generated by other games, including marketing assets.
I died in the daytime Developer Behavior Interactive raised several eyebrows between a player base with a job listing that attempts to hire programmers and artists with “generating AI experience.” Since its inception, Gen-AI tools have been a hot button topic in the gaming industry, raising questions about their use to replace human development work. Many players are against games that employ generative AI in development, and support handmade art and animation. Naturally, these new lists speak of how actions “push the boundaries between what is possible with generated AI and real-time graphics,” but prove the source of concern.
In particular, two job lists from Dead By Daylight Studio have attracted attention, but the description doesn’t particularly mention horror games. The first is for senior full stack programmers who are tasked with “developing backend and frontend features using generated AI.” This means that they may not be working directly on DBD, but are likely to be involved in developing technologies that can be used in future multiplayer games.
In the epic scheme of generation AI, its use as a tool to aid programming and development is one of its uncontrolled implementations, which helps you debug and refine things rather than building them from scratch. But creating art, assets and other media with generative AI is certainly something I’m not a fan of, and I see dramatic pushbacks from many players. That is the case for the latter role.
The second list is for senior technical artists in “unreleased projects” who work in production, art and animation. “We are looking for senior technical artists with strong programming and analytical skills to bridge the gap between cutting-edge generative AI technology and artistic workflows,” writes Amity. “This role is ideal for those who thrive at the intersection of art and technology, and is particularly interested in assessing and integrating generation AI tools into the generation pipeline in a responsible and ethical way.”
The team says they are looking for someone with “practical experience with generative AI tools for creating videos, images, or content (Stable Diffusion, Comfyui).” The role adds that the candidates will “analyze, test, and document” the usefulness of generative AI-driven tools in high-tech art workflows (video, image, content generation, etc.) and “work with artists to build, build and maintain prototypes, build, and creative solutions using generator AI and custom tools.”

This led to the first protest against the deaths by Daylight Reddit. “BHVR proudly says it uses generator AI,” one user wrote. Some people in the comments say it’s okay to be used to solve some of the technical troubles in DBD. Others express concern about what the artist’s role means and whether it has a harmful pushback to his death in the daytime.
In the meantime, there is the latest details for the next DBD update release date, as well as a list of active DBD codes to get free bonuses like Bloodpoint and cosmetics.
