The Premier League’s downtime target surged on Saturday, with one of them finishing a 100% start in Liverpool’s title defense.
Edinketia’s strike with seven minutes of extra time went back to April, securing Crystal Palace, beating the champions 2-1, extending the London team’s unbeaten run to 18 games.
Liverpool, who won the first five games of the campaign, had their lead trimmed to three points.
The Reds have been out of their habit of scoring late goals this season, and Federico Chiesa’s 87-minute effort seemed to give them a chance to secure a draw or secure a sixth straight victory.
Chelsea played almost the entire second half with 10 guys against Brighton, paying prices and admitting two goals in suspension, losing 3-1 in second straight losses.
Erling Haaland won Manchester City’s 51 victory in Burnley in 90 minutes, even in injury time.
And Manchester United’s latest loss was sealed by Brentford’s downtime target, winning 3-1. It could have been very different if Bruno Fernandez’s penalty was not saved in the 76th minute by Brentford goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher.
Bournemouth also scored in stop time and scored a 2-2 draw in Leeds, with Sunderland winning 1-0 at Nottingham Forest. His recently employed manager Anjipost Koguro has yet to win five matches with his new club.
Later on Saturday, Tottenham will be at his home in Wolverhampton.
I lost the points first
Liverpool was completely convincing to score up to 15 points, and Arne Slot’s team was reverted back by the Palace.
The palace led Ismaila Saar in the ninth minute, wasting the chance to go further.
Nketiah’s goal was poor, but he maintained a long, unbeaten run at the palace under Oliver Glasner.
Fernandez misses again
United currently loses three of their six matches in the league, already out of the British League Cup at the hands of Grimsbytown in the fourth tier.
The Portuguese midfielder missed a penalty at Fulham last month, and on Saturday his low spot kick was locked out by Kelleher, making Brentford well for the victory.
United were behind an early double by Brazilian striker Igor Thiago by the 20th minute before Benjamin Sesco reduced United’s deficit with his first goal in British football.
Matthias Jensen carried a shot from the edge of the area for Brentford’s third goal at rest.
United failed to win a Chelsea victory last week, and have not recorded a back-to-back wins under Amorim since their first match last November.
Haaland Double
Haaland is already clear on the league scoring charts, and he moved the double to eight goals.
Before Haaland’s brace, the city’s goal came from an extraordinary source.
Each half by Buck Maxim Esteb of Burnley Centre had its own goals on either side of a rare strike by right-back Mashuusnunes.
City won three of their six games and moved five points to Liverpool.
Burnley’s goal comes from Jadon Anthony, who already has four of the campaigns.
Another Chelsea send out
Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off last weekend in the fifth minute of his defeat at Man United.
A week later, Chelsea were leading 1-0 thanks to Enzo Fernandez’s first half header. Center back Trebochalova was shown a straight red card in the 53rd for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity to Brighton.
Brighton then ruled, with Danny Welbeck equalising on the 77th, with both Maxim de Kuiper and Welbeck scoring in the suspension time.
