Dodgers dugout: There are no words to describe Shohei Ohtani

Hello. Welcome to another edition of the Dodgers Dugout. my name is houston mitchell. I don’t understand why people keep doing this Shohei OtaniAll told, he allowed two hits to three batters and gave up a walk.

–I got the impression that. David Corenswet He was going to be the new Superman. Apparently I was wrong.

–So, as I sit there and watch Ohtani hit three home runs, have 10 strikeouts, and pitch six shutout innings, I’m thinking about what to write about it. There are no words.

— Every Dodgers fan, no, every baseball fan, needs to stop for a second and realize what a great athlete we are watching.

— and does so with seeming grace and humility. All I can say is “Wow!”

— No one in my family is as avid a baseball fan as I am, but they all understand how great this is.

-colleague Bill Plaschke .

–Okay, maybe the NLCS will be easy after all.

–Judging by body language alone, it looked like the Brewers gave up midway through Game 3.

— Brewers Manager pat murphy They spent much of the series telling the media how much money the Dodgers spent and how great a team they were, and that’s how the Brewers played, as if they were lucky to be on the same field.

—dave roberts Just like last season, he is managing the bullpen very well. Blake Treinen If he can’t do that in Game 4, he’ll get Trienen out of there as soon as possible.

—anthony banda It should be high up in the trust tree at this point. He looks very nice outside.

–The Dodgers only needed to use 18 players from their 26-man roster to beat the Brewers. Not appearing at all in the NLCS: Position players Kim Hye Sun, Miguel Rojas and ben rotvedt and pitcher ben casparius, jack dryer, clayton kershaw, emmett sheehan and Justin Robleski. Justin Dean He appeared in all games, but never took a turn at bat.

–Just to show that it’s a team game, even if they steal Ohtani’s three home runs, the Dodgers will still win Game 4.

– They gave Ohtani the National League MVP award, but think about this: Seven different Dodgers scored at least one run, six different Dodgers scored at least one run, and eight Dodgers drew at least one walk.

–The Dodgers had 14 extra-base hits in this series. The Brewers had 14 hits.

-The Dodgers’ starting pitcher pitched 28.2 innings, allowing just nine hits, seven walks, 35 strikeouts and a 0.63 ERA.

– The bullpen pitched 7.1 innings, allowing five hits and four walks while striking out six and posting an ERA of 2.46.

–This is the second time the Dodgers have swept the best-of-seven series. The other was the 1963 World Series, which was also dominated by starting pitchers (35.1 of 36 innings pitched).

–Now that I think about it, next is the World Series. But you don’t have to worry about that today or this weekend. They begin next Friday against either Toronto or Seattle. And I’m telling you right now, the Dodgers will win that series too.

—In the meantime, enjoy your weekend. Series like this make it easier to remember that this is supposed to be fun.
