What are the best mods for The Outer Worlds 2? If the original Outer Worlds is anything to go by, we won’t see a Skyrim-style overhaul mod that adds entirely new areas to the game. That’s not to say there’s nothing to look forward to, but you’ll need to temper your expectations as we’re expecting a number of gameplay tweaks that will further improve the core experience.
One of the first things we tried to do when we got The Outer Worlds 2 was access console commands, but that functionality is locked until you load a mod. use both The Outer Worlds 2 console commands and mods allow you to turn your RPG game to your will, giving you instant access to characters who can do whatever you want.

Optimized adjustments
We’re usually reluctant to add engine tuning mods to our list because they have a minor impact on some games at best, but that’s not the case with VynnGfx’s Optimized Tweaks mod. If you’re having stuttering or performance issues, this mod focuses on solving Unreal Engine 5 issues that developers continue to encounter.
Optimized Tweaks also contain individual files that significantly reduce the visuals of a game in exchange for performance, in some cases doubling the frame rate on handheld gaming PCs such as Steam Deck.
Character editor (Respec)
As you may have noticed, The Outer Worlds 2 does not allow you to reconfigure yourself, as the developers want you to live according to your choices. However, this is not a real story, so you don’t need to listen to Obsidian or anyone else’s opinion. With nathdev’s Character Editor mod, you can break all the rules by not only changing skills and perks on the fly, but also changing your character. If you need a haircut, launch the editor menu and switch. If you want a completely new look, you can always just make the necessary changes.
Near third person camera
The angle of the stock third-person camera just doesn’t feel right. It would be better if I could adjust the camera settings myself, but for now I’m happy to rely on the xD1712’s Near Third person Camera mod. Aside from some issues when using certain melee weapons, this mod improves the camera to bring it closer to a traditional third-person action game.
Adjusting the map
Caites is known for providing countless gameplay mods across most major releases, and they’re back once again with a number of tweaks to The Outer Worlds 2. Our favorite among them is the Maps Tweaks mod, which removes the fog of war effect from the map and clearly shows your next destination. Increase in skill points
The best part of RPGs is being able to level up, gain new abilities and skills, and become even stronger. Of course, you can earn experience points by playing through The Outer Worlds 2’s entire quest list, or you can use this mod to customize the leveling process to your liking.
Another gameplay adjustment. This time it comes to us courtesy of GoldenChrome, who designed the More Skill Points per Level MOD that does exactly what it sounds like. Changes the amount of skill points you earn with each level up, giving you more options when it comes to conversations and interactions within your environment.
free cam
Embrace your inner photographer and unlock a whole new perspective on the galaxy with KeinZantezuken’s Free Cam and Teleport mod. Characters become insubstantial while using the free camera, but it’s a relatively small price to pay to take photos from virtually anywhere.
console command
KeinZantezuken’s Console Enabler mod allows you to use TheOuterWorlds2 console and unlocks access to development tools. When the mod is active, you can simply press the tilde key to open the console and enter any console command to add or remove virtually anything you want in the game.
