Fans of the biggest and best FPS games can be a little more judgmental than fans who prefer a different flavor of shooting experience. “‘Call of Duty’ is just mainstream crap,” screams a hardcore audience member. “You have to be a sadist to play Escape From Tarkov,” the more casual players respond. Some people, like me, will embrace anything that involves a bit of competition or satisfying gunplay, but if you want to lean into the more hardcore genre, there’s nothing better than this. Hell Let Loose. The ultra-realistic World War II shooter that gives you the chance to be the commander of an entire squad of 50 players is now available for a super low price. A sequel for Vietnam will be released next year, so this is also a good time to get acquainted.
If you have an eye for historical accuracy and enjoy the challenge of accurate, strategic FPS, then there’s a good chance that Hell Let Loose has already captured your attention. Well, it’s finally a good time to pull the trigger. Good aim is useful in any shooter, but winning a huge 50-on-50 battle depends on communication, coordination, and smart play, just like simply charging into battle like in Battlefield 6, for example.
An impressive lineup of maps lets you traverse all of Europe, from the Eastern Front to the Western Front, while also immersing yourself in North Africa. There are over a dozen roles you can play with several custom loadouts available for each. You can support your team’s snipers as a spotter, take care of frontline snipers as a medic, play as an anti-tank specialist, and much more.
But the coolest role of them all is the commander. Only one player per team can fill this role, so you won’t get this privilege very often. But when that happens, you become the leader of the entire army. It’s your job to coordinate your squad to attack and defend objectives effectively, but there are also some powerful abilities you can deploy to turn the tide or protect your lead. You can deploy vehicles, airdrop supplies, increase the amount of resources given to a node for a short period of time, or call in devastating airstrikes.
Even if you’re not a big fan of World War II movies, you’ll definitely find yourself drawn to Hell Let Loose if you give it a little time. The jungles of Vietnam may be more your thing. Well, Hell Let Loose 2 is heading there next year, and from what we saw at Gamescom earlier this year, it’s only getting better. Therefore, this is a good opportunity to get acquainted, since the first game is currently very cheap.
At Fanatical, you can get a Hell Let Loose Steam key for just $17.49 / £17.49. This is a 65% savings. If you access that page using the widget below, you’ll see that the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game also have slightly larger discounts of 66% and 68%. For UK residents, this discount makes the deluxe edition cheaper than the standard edition’s £16.99, but regardless of currency, the chunkier edition is probably worth a look as the prices are very close.
If you’re looking for a tactical, realistic, and incredibly immersive shooter game, give Hell Let Loose a try. Also, stay tuned for more news about the upcoming sequel. It looks even more spectacular.
