From Borderlands 4 to Expedition 33, Fanatical's Black Friday prices are cheaper than Steam

Steam may not be holding its own Black Friday sale, but that doesn’t stop you from filling your library (see backlog) with tons of games. steam key At a great price. of Frenzy Black Friday Sale is finally here, offering tons of great deals on everything from underrated gems to the year’s biggest hits. There are many options, but I’ve hand-picked some of my personal favorites to help you choose.

Considering Fanatical’s price; usual Since it’s cheaper than Valve’s storefront, I think most of the existing discounts will be cheaper than the next Steam sale. Best of all, it starts a little early, a week before this year’s shopping event, so if you’re looking for a year-end adventure, this is the time to do it.

borderlands 4

There’s no better way to stay warm during the coldest months of the year than with a booty shower. Borderlands 4 is the latest installment in the great FPS franchise. From tank-like sci-fi beasts to cybernetically enhanced exosoldiers, choosing from four Vault Hunters gives you fascinating freedom to create a powerful character that embodies your preferred gameplay style.

Borderlands 4 helps deliver a grounded and impactful story that loses a bit of the overly comedic feel of its predecessor, but the variety of loot makes it easy to get sucked into the series’ wildest aspects. If you’re looking for a serious loot shooter to spend some time on, this is the game for you, especially when it’s on sale.

Buy Borderlands 4 for $48.99 / £41.99 (30% off) at Fanatical.

A close-up screenshot of the amnesiac protagonist slashing with a sword in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Dynasty Warriors Origins

There were plenty of must-play games in 2025, but with Dynasty Warriors Origins released in January, it’s easy to forget. But whether you’re a fan of Musou games or just a lover of a good action title, the series’ signature horde-slashing combat is an exceptional experience that will please newcomers and Dynasty Warriors fans alike.

While the multiple character approach offered by the rest of the series has been removed, the amnesiac protagonist has plenty of weapons to vary the combat, all the while adding another twist to the first half of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, allowing us to enjoy a great story. Definitely recommended. I spent over 100 hours on it during the launch month.

Buy Dynasty Warriors: Origins for $44.79 / £41.59 (36% off) at Fanatical.

Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33

A surprise hit, a top-tier RPG, and a great story are just some of the ways I would describe Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. My personal Game of the Year (I can’t write about Death Stranding 2 until it’s on PC), Expedition 33’s action-inspired turn-based combat may keep you hooked, but its heartbreaking and fascinating world will keep you talking about it months after you’ve played it. See, I’m doing it myself now.

As a crew member of the aptly titled Expedition 33, you play as a party of daring adventurers seeking to defeat the Paintless, a god-like figure who draws a new number every year and kills everyone over his age. With an all-star cast delivering some truly memorable performances and a deeply strategic combat system, it’s easy to see why everyone is so excited about Expedition 33.

Buy Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for $35.99 / £30.23 (28% off) at Fanatical.

V Rising key art shows two vampires, one holding a sword and the other holding a pistol

V rising

Halloween may be over, but vampires are still my favorite creatures of the night, and few games play with the mythology of these pop culture monsters quite like V Rising. A blend of action RPG, survival mechanics, and base-building fun, V Rising lets you create your very own vamp, starving, weakening, and waking up from a slumber hoping to become the powerful being you’re meant to be.

Isometric cameras help you capture the beauty of your map, but you’ll encounter different hazards in different regions. The goal is to build your own castle and fight legendary V-Blood bosses scattered throughout the land, while gaining new abilities and crafting new equipment. It’s a favorite of the team, and we still play it regularly, years after beginning our adventure in Early Access.

Buy V Rising for $13.29 / £11.23 (62% off) at Fanatical.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 gameplay shows Spider-Man using a steel spider arm to attack off-screen enemies

marvel’s spiderman 2

Few superhero games have the flair and brilliance that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has. It’s a personal favorite of mine since I played it on PS5. Flying around New York City as Peter Parker or Miles Morales has never been more fulfilling, and the fast-paced Arkham-style combat wrapped in layers of web-based skill keeps a smile on my face every time I load up to journey through the city streets.

It also contains a heartwarming story about grief and growth within the typical hero vs. villain story with bombastic antagonists like Kraven and Venom. New York has expanded since the first game, giving us even more of a world to explore, but I can’t stress enough how exciting it is to simply wander around. Excuse me, but there’s something I want to do right now.

Jack uses a sword to cut through enemies in Ghostrunner 2 artwork

ghost runner 2

Ghostrunner 2 has brutal and unforgiving difficulty, but it’s well worth it if you can learn the ropes of this fast-paced action game. You play as the agile cyber ninja Jack. Jack is rebuilt after the events of the first game and joins the rebel forces to restore peace and order to the chaos of Dharma Tower.

You can run along walls and use special skills to defeat enemies and run around cyberpunk-style levels, but Jack can die in one hit and be sent back to the final checkpoint, and most enemies are low on health as well. In addition to enjoying the chaotic action that unfolds, it is also important to choose targets and strategize to eliminate enemy forces.

Buy Ghostrunner 2 at Fanatical for $6.39 / £5.59 (84% off).

Aloy stares out over the horizon in Horizon Forbidden West gameplay screenshot

Horizon: Forbidden West – Complete Edition

Robotic dinosaurs, gorgeous worlds, and post-apocalyptic ruins await you in Horizon: Forbidden West. This sequel to Zero Dawn brings back the great hunting action the RPG series is known for, while delivering even more epic adventures. As Aloy, you head into the Forbidden West in search of GAIA backup as part of a plan to save Earth’s deteriorating biosphere.

It’s a solid story, but where Horizon: Forbidden West still excels is in the exploration and eventual hunting action of the different types of Robodino. I love seeing how the game captures the size and stature of such powerful “creatures” thanks to the beautiful visuals. And whether it’s using traps or shooting arrows with a bow and spear, the tools Aloy has at hand make every battle different. Best of all, the Complete Edition brings the base game and the Burning Shores expansion together.

Buy Horizon: Forbidden West for $32.39 (46% off) at Fanatical.

Precinct

If you’ve been waiting for the final GTA 6 release date and always wondered what it would be like to be on the other side of the law, The Precinct is sure to keep you hooked. This indie game gives you a good taste of what it means to be a good cop as you roam the streets looking for criminals and continue the overarching story of uncovering the underworld of Averno City.

Typical tasks include ticketing vandals and speeding drivers while fighting off bank robbers and chasing gunmen. There’s a good balance between the mundane and the chaotic, giving you the full experience of stepping into Nick Cordell Jr.’s shoes, helped along by a decent plot as he deals with the criminal organization that controls the city of Averno.

Buy The Precinct for $16.49 / £13.74 (45% off) at Fanatical.

Naked Snake wearing green camouflage and holding a knife in Metal Gear Solid Delta gameplay

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Few franchises have had the staying power of Metal Gear Solid, but Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a solid remake of the third installment, proving that its political intrigue and stealth combat are equally appealing to fans and new players alike. As Naked Snake, you are sent to Tselinoyarsk, Soviet Union, in the midst of an alternate interpretation of the 1960s Cold War, hoping to complete a noble mission for the CIA. Of course, as with any political situation, things can go awry quickly.

It’s a faithful recreation of the original game with updated visuals for the modern era, but Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater also features quality-of-life improvements to make it more accessible to new players. Despite being over 20 years old, it’s clear that the Metal Gear Solid series is just as essential a game today, making this great remake all the more reason to exist.

Buy Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater for $38.49 / £38.49 (45% off) at Fanatical.

A frenzied Black Friday sale image that crystallizes shots of the game.

flash sale

Are you just looking for great games at bargain prices? Then Fanatical’s flash deals are worth considering. Three games are on sale every day on the Fanatical homepage, with huge discounts on everything from indies to triple-A hits, but only for one day. We’ve got some pretty great titles in there, so it’s worth checking back every day from Friday 21st November 2025 to Sunday 30th November 2025 to see what’s available.

So if you’re looking to stock your Steam library with great games at great prices, these are all my top recommendations. The premise is that you haven’t played it all yet.
