MANILA, Philippines (AP) — It said it collapsed walls of homes and buildings in the central Philippines late Tuesday, killing at least 31 people, wounding many others, and blew glow out of the house to cut off a violent shake.

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 19 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Bogo, a coastal city of Cebu, about 90,000 people, caused by movement of local faults at a depth of five kilometers (3 miles) and killed at least 14 residents, REX Ygot was linked to reports that the phone was associated with.

Bogo’s death toll was expected to rise. Workers were trying to speed up search and rescue efforts at a gathering of mountain village huts hit by landslides and rocks, and transport search and rescue efforts, he said.

“It’s difficult to move to the area due to the danger,” another disaster mitigation officer, Glen Ursal, told the Associated Press, adding that some survivors were brought to hospital.

Gemma Villamoomoomoomoomoomoomoomoomoomoomoomoomoomoomoomotor, the town’s disaster mitigation plan, died when at least 12 people were attacked by fallen ceilings and walls of the house.

In Sun Remizio Town near Bogo, five people, consisting of three Coast Guard personnel, firefighters and children, were killed separately by Alfie Raines, the town’s deputy mayor, told the DZMM Radio Network, trying to escape safely from a basketball game while breaking a wall and being killed separately.

Reigns sued for food and water, saying that San Remigio’s water system was damaged by the earthquake.

Aside from the Bogo home, the earthquake damaged the fire station and concrete and asphalt roads, firefighter Ray Kaneete said.

“We were in the barracks to retire for the day the ground began to shake, and we stumbled on the ground because we quickly shaked,” Kaneete told the Associated Press, adding that he and three other firefighters had been cut and bruises.

The fire station concrete walls have collapsed, Kaneete said. He and fellow firefighters provided first aid to at least three residents. At least three residents were injured in falling debris and collapsed walls.

Hundreds of horrific residents gathered in the darkness of grassy fields near the fire station and refused to return home after an earthquake struck in Bogo. Some business facilities have visibly suffered damages, and the asphalt and concrete roads they passed by had deep cracks, which also damaged the old Catholic church in the town of Dhanbantayan near Bogo.

Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro said the extent of damage and injuries to Bogo and the outer towns in the northern part of the state is not known until the day. “It may be worse than we think,” he said in a video message posted to Facebook.

The Philippine Volcanic Seismic Institute issued a temporary tsunami warning and advised people not to approach Cebu’s coastline or nearby Leyte and Bililan provinces, as it could potentially waves of up to 1 meter (3 feet).

Institute director Teresito Bacolcol said the tsunami warning was later lifted and the unusual waves were not monitored.

Cebu and other states are still recovering from the tropical storm that hit the Central Region on Friday, killing at least 27 people as they are primarily own deaths and knocking out forces across towns, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate.

One of the world’s most disaster-prone countries, the Philippines is hit by earthquakes and volcanic eruptions due to the location of the “ring of fire” in the Pacific Ocean, an arc of seismic faults around the ocean. The archipelago is also hit by around 20 typhoons and storms each year.
