Ark Survival has risen We have steadily made every step of our expansion to Survival Evolved. Once Survival Ascenden checked the content that evolved from that list, once every bit of survival was checked. Ark 2however, unfortunately, the location of that highly anticipated sequel is still unknown. Instead, players will get their first ever completely new expansion of the Ark Survival Ascendent Send, known as Lost Colony. The star-studded cast and icy new world are enough to be excited, but there are also “fan favorite characters” and tee-up stories.
We were able to unveil some small but exciting details about the colony that was lost at the end of last year. This took place in a new winter location, connecting dots of some of the story of the previous Ark Survival Ascended Expansions and bullying what comes in the elusive Ark 2.
Lost Colony places you in Mei Yin (you’d already know if you watch the Ark Animated series on Paramount+) and explores the frozen territory of Arat Prime. This is the name that most dedicated ARK Lore-Heads recognizes. It has been suggested as a significant place for years, and YouTube’s explanation in the new release trailer confirms it is in fact “the birthplace of the Ark.” The description states, “Arat Prime frozen waste is not lacking an intellectual life.
Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeau renames her role as May Ying, starring alongside Madeleine Madden and, most interestingly, actress Aurivy Kravalli, who plays Meeka (Santiago’s daughter) in Ark 2.
Studio Wildcard says that during the new expansion there is “unlocking the tree of powerful ‘lost’ character abilities, making friends with exotic Tems, and a new building system for ‘cursed’ gear, and Master Advanced’s new building system” here as well as there is more than new environments and story content.
According to Studio Wildcard, Ark Survival Ascended’s Lost Colony expansion was pre-ordered in June this year and will be released in November 2025.
It’s great that there’s a launch window in your diary, but it also suggests that there’s a very long time to wait for the release date of Ark 2. After suffering from delays, it is scheduled for a 2024 release, and the year ended without mentioning why it missed the windows and status. The story of Lost Colony Teeing Up Up Ark 2 will of course not be released before the expansion. The 2025 Ark 2 release would be very unlikely, as Studio Wildcard would also want to give some breathing space to the lost colony. All eyes of 2026 are likely.
