Baba, one of two Hawks stolen from Sophie Stadium, is safe. Alice remains missing

One of the two trained Hawks during the game recovered Sunday at Hacienda Heights, nearly 25 miles from where the vehicle was found filmed during the robbery a week ago.

The two-seat electric cart with keys remaining on the ignition was stolen from the stadium on September 28th. The Hawks, named Baba and Alice, were housed in a green container in the back seat and disappeared with the vehicle.

Bubba was retrieved near Seventh Street in Hacienda Heights after the homeowner discovered Hawk in his backyard and contacted the Inglewood Police Department. Falconer’s Charles Coger, who trained and owned the Hawks, competed for the location.

“I arranged, went there as soon as possible and got Baba back,” Coger said. “Alice is still there, but I hope this will show up.”

The Hawks were hired to Sophie Stadium to stop other birds from flying through Sophie Stadium during the game, keeping fans safe with unpleasant airborne dung and preventing birds from eating abandoned food.

Also known as the Bay Winghawks are large, whimsical birds of prey that breed throughout the Southwest United States and across South America. They have more than humans and are known for this.

It was discovered that Kawasaki Mule UTV, which housed the Hawks, was abandoned on September 29th in the South Lala area, about five miles from Sophie Stadium and 25 miles from Hacienda Heights.

Inglewood police released photos of the suspect taken by security cameras at the stadium, describing him as a male adult.

Cogger hopes that Alice will appear. Each Coger Hawks wears a metal band around their legs, identifying them as captive.

“They can go longer without eating or getting water,” he said.

Anyone with information about Alice can contact the Inglewood Police Station Surveillance Commander at (310) 412-5206. Crime Stoppers offer rewards for Hawk’s safe returns.
