The cause of his death was organ failure due to a previous injury sustained in 2020, from which he never recovered.
“We are very sad to announce the passing of our father, Chad McQueen,” his family captioned the post. “His incredible journey as a loving father to us and his unwavering devotion to our mother truly embodied a life filled with love and dedication. His passion for racing not only highlighted his incredible talent, but it was also a way for us to honor his father’s legacy and a testament to the values instilled in him.”
While acknowledging that Chad “passed on his passion, knowledge and dedication” to them, they vowed to “carry on not only his legacy, but that of their grandfather.”
“As a family we must get through this difficult time and ask for privacy as we remember and celebrate his incredible life,” the post read, before closing with a signature from Chad’s children and wife, saying: “With sincere gratitude, Jeannie, Chase and Madison.”
Chad was married to his wife. Jeannie Galbraithsince 1993. Prior to that, he was married to his ex-wife. Stacey Rae TotenFrom 1987 to 1990, he was the eldest son Steven R. McQueenand Stacey, as well as their other children, Madison, Chase and Jeannie.
The late Los Angeles native began his acting career in Hollywood, landing his breakthrough role in the 1984 film “Dutch.” The Karate Kid And the sequel, The Karate Kid Part IIAfter beginning his career as an actor, Chad also began working as a producer.
Outside of the entertainment industry, Chase was an avid racing enthusiast. Nearing the end of his racing career, Chad started his own company, McQueen Racing, LLC.
