Eight people were injured Saturday afternoon after a disgruntled customer drove his car to the showroom of an Inglewood car dealership, police said.
The crash occurred just after 2pm at Carmax, in the 8600 block of South Lasienega Boulevard. Authorities say the man had previously been involved in the conflict at the dealership.
Of the eight injured, two were taken to the trauma center where they were seriously injured. Both clients and Carmax employees have been hit, the company’s statement said.
Police said there were no deaths.
Videos of the incident posted on social media show the car that turned over to the showroom gets in the way and screams out of the way. The car then drives on the other side of the dealer.
An employee from his days shopping for cars at the dealership prior to the incident said he saw a customer screaming at the staff trying to settle him. The customer shook a metal water bottle before going outside and jumping on the roof of the car. The Times employee and his wife became uncomfortable and left.
After the suspect passed through the showroom, he escaped from the scene and headed to the recruitment training center at the nearby Los Angeles Police Department, where he attracted himself. Cesar Jurado.
“The safety of our peers, our community and our customers is our number one priority,” Carmax said in a statement, adding that the company is working with law enforcement to investigate. “We are deeply saddened by this event and our hearts come to everyone who has been shocked.”
