Bob Costas’ successor as the voice of play-by-play in TNT’s major league baseball postseason game will be the same broadcaster as in 2017 after following his 44-year Hall of Fame career with the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings.

Yes, I have experience replacing the radio Titan.

Of course, Costas was another Hall of Fame, and he retired after 44 years. His final MLB call was in the 2024 American League Division Series, when the New York Yankees defeated the Kansas City Royals in four games.

Faust, 36, is currently streaming Friday night MLB games on Apple TV+. He was also the radio voice of the New York Rangers and part of the hockey and tennis coverage at TNT Sports. When it expired in 2023 when he signed with TV.

Costas continues to appear on the MLB network, but not every play. His most recent appearance on Airwaves was his appearance as a guest on the NPR News Quiz on September 13th.

After talking about not building his high school baseball team and recounting the embarrassing, somewhat profan gaffe he made in the air early in his career, Costa answered all three game show questions about correctly.

Costas joked that he achieved “trifecta, hat trick, triple crown.” Host Peter Segal asked what the show should call when someone gets three at three. Costas laughed and replied, “Costy.”

He should probably win an award named after him. The 73-year-old Costas won 29 Emmys and was the primetime host of the 12 Olympics from 1988 to 2016. He called for three World Series and 10 MLB League Championships.

Costas resigned from playing MLB Network, which he had planned to retire for over a year, saying in November he had “failed to consistently reach his past standards.”
