October is my favorite month of the year. As autumn begins to deepen, sunrise and sunset become much later and earlier, respectively. Hinako is not a soldier or a gun-wielding warrior, but just a vulnerable teenage girl. Her melee weapons are limited to rusty pipes and baseball bats, making it difficult for her to take on the strange creatures that inhabit her hometown of Ebisugaoka. In his review of Silent Hill F, Daniel Rose said the game “skillfully reinterprets the iconic horror series for a modern audience, serving as both a moving homage and a strong vision for Silent Hill’s future.”
As someone who preferred Resident Evil to Silent Hill for years, I understand why people would be hesitant to pay full price for something they aren’t sure they’ll enjoy.
