As Diablo 4 Season 8 has been postponed and news about the next path for the Exile 2 update, the highly promising 2025 ARPG has a special surprise announcement. Titank Est 2the much-anticipated sequel to the beloved Greek mythology classic is approaching early access release, revealing that developers Grimroir games are getting one class type more than previously expected. Rogue Mastery joins the previously announced trio’s wars, earth and storms to further amplify the build.
Titan Quest 2 follows a mastery system that returns the footsteps of its predecessors. Your character can combine these two into a unique blend. This means that the possibilities for radically different playthroughs will be dramatically expanded with the addition of new masteries. This is a feature that highlights the original as one of the most interesting games, like 2006’s Diablo. As the release of early access for the sequel approaches, Grimlore announces a “decent surprise” to make sure Rogue Mastery joins the release in time for the existing trio.
Rogue Mastery focuses on three main pillars: accuracy, preparation and avoidance. Its ability is accurate and lands precisely where they mean. You can apply a coating to your weapon and supply various diseases to enemies that can be used to set up combos. Finally, you can step into the shadows, avoid damage and leave Nemmy unaware of your presence.
Grimlore details the few skills that Rogue brings to the table. “Lethal Strike” is a classic stealth class staple, dealing with a huge single blow that can erase the health of a victim. If you earn a kill with it, the cooldown will be refreshed and you can quickly tear the weak enemy pack. “Mark for Death” labels selected targets and deals with some of the additional damage by default, but may allow for more powerful interactions such as exploding poisons and shadow daggers.
“Flicker” is a teleport that damages piercings. Another iconic Rogue Toolkit can help you get out of danger with your heartbeat, recover cooldowns and build flow states, or change to a more aggressive, damage dealing skill if necessary. Finally, “preparation” is an aura that reserves some of your energy and increases poison and physical damage. You can change this further. This can be fixed using the option to increase your chances of illness or critical hits, convert weapon damage types, or summon shadow daggers when landing critics.
The Grimlore video above shows an example of these elements combined, showing dual wilding characters built for large-scale poison outputs to convert all weapon damage to poison using the Preparation Aura. First mark the most powerful target in the group, then use hand-ren bullets to soften the pack, dive in with flickers, finish off a big threat with a deadly strike, then remel the cooldown to help clean up the remaining stragra.
Once early access to Titan Quest 2 begins, Rogue Mastery will be available. There is currently no release date set, but it is scheduled to land in the first half of 2025. Grimrois says he’ll look forward to more regular blog posts and gameplay footage as it approaches release.
