You might be forgiven for wondering when exactly. Siege Developer Spiderling Studios is taking a hiatus. The medieval sandbox simulation game is still getting updates almost a decade after its release, and the game’s first new DLC has just been released. After all that time, you might have thought there would be some silence for a while, but that’s not the case: the developer has just revealed a roadmap for the coming months packed with updates.
First up for Besiege is a major update to the game’s level editor. Tinkering around in a sandbox game and creating your own levels is one of the game’s fundamentals. Following the recently released DLC “Splintered Sea,” the developers are really letting the editor shine, adding new objects players can use, improving quality of life, and improving support for the game’s new water-based levels. Amazingly, according to the roadmap, the update is scheduled to be released by 2024.
There’s also a block update planned for 2024, which will add new blocks that players can use to enhance their mechanical creations – Spiderling Studios hasn’t shared any details about this, and has yet to release any details on what form the new blocks will take.
Finally, in 2025, Besiege will celebrate its 10th anniversary. To celebrate this, Spiderling Studios will look back at the game’s history, revisiting old content and updating different aspects from the past years. In addition to these updates, the developers plan to add new and challenging challenges that will keep Besiege veterans engaged.
There’s no concrete start date for these updates just yet, but you can find a detailed look at Besiege’s roadmap on Steam , and it looks like the game is in for a very busy period between late 2024 and early 2025. Here’s hoping it stays that way for a long time. Besiege is also 75% off until Wednesday, September 18th, so now is a great time to buy it..
