Lost Ark is getting quality updates for life, but there’s a nasty catch

The Lost ArkAmazon Games’ huge MMORPG was a struggle. It’s like playing a second job if you don’t want to take out a credit card, but time-limited content, RNG-based gear upgrades, and individual accounts on each server all contribute to the aura of MalContent around the game. It currently stands on Steam with a “mixed” rating, with only 67% of English reviews being actively rated. However, developer Smimalgate is trying to regain fans with a new content roadmap for the rest of the year.

The final months of 2025 revolve around the Cazeroth attack. This Endgame activity begins with this month’s Prologue Questline, before crescing into Act 4, a fortress of Destruction in November. This is a 2-gate attack with eight players for high-level players. Don’t worry if you don’t have items above level 1,700 (or 1,720 for hard mode).

However, after clearing Cazeroth, you can find his true form through the second gate. The raid, known as Denouement: The Last Day, marks the biggest major event of the year for Lost Ark, as it will be spent sweeping other issues in December.

Smilegate is planning the next batch of December’s quality updates in addition to the regular holiday cosmetics, but hasn’t said exactly what they will entail.

We lost Ark City from our 2025 roadmap.

There are progression events, another Mokoko Bootcamp, and new batches of daily activity updates to help new players (or ALT accounts) speed up. But there’s a catch.

Before the Cazeroth attack begins, Smilegate merges NA EAST with the Western NA region. If it happens a week before the major update in October, this will cause significant downtime for the game and potential forced name changes for players. If two players have the same username in separate regions, they will be entered into a tiebreaker to see who can maintain their name.

Players with the highest combat level on the roster will hold their name and if it is still tied, they will go to the player who created the name first. If you’re on the losing side, you’re lucky. It would be better to consider a new name and apply Tipp-Ex to your birth certificate.

Later this year or early next year, Smilegate will release additional names from inactive accounts.
