A friend of Makena described her as “someone of sorts,” adding, “There was this unusual way to make you feel special, and her huge heart was always full of love.”
“Being loved by Makena was a gift. I came with endless laughter, so much joy and healthy sprinkles of chaos to keep up with her travel schedule,” the caption continued. “If you want to celebrate Makena’s memory, donations to the Blue Yale Brain Health & Memory Clinic or the Griffin Bell Peament Fund make a lot of sense. Jake issued a statement people Following Makena’s untimely death. He described his late girlfriend as “a thoughtful person whose selflessness towards others is something I always appreciate.”
“We shared so many unforgettable memories together. It’s a difficult reality to understand because she’s not with us anymore,” his statement continued. “She has an incredible family, great friends, and her fun and boring energy is missed by all of us. This is a modest way to say how difficult this is, especially for everyone who knew her family and friends, who deserves privacy and respect during this difficult time.”

According to her LinkedIn page, in addition to being Jake’s two-year girlfriend, Makena was a skilled, educated sales representative working for medical device company Lemaitre Vascular. She has 10 years of experience in field sales and marketing.
Makena is a graduate of McMaster University and has received an Honors degree in Communications and Software Engineering, according to LinkedIn.

Makena’s family, friend, Jake has not confirmed whether she lives with health issues. However, she previously referred to herself as “tabocytes,” which is likely to refer to tachycardia: a condition in which the heart causes rapid and/or irregular heartbeats.
