India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar revealed that the number of countries ready to join the BRICS Alliance is on the rise. In a session entitled “The Rise and Role of the Indian World” in London, Jaishankar confirmed that Bloc encourages developing countries to break the norm and enter new financial spheres without relying on the US dollar for survival.

The number of countries that want to participate in the BRICS Alliance is increasing

Jaishankar emphasized that the BRICS Alliance is “Very diverse groups” And emerging economies find the bloc attractive. Uniformity of diversity is what draws other countries towards it in the general agenda of derailment. “I think obviously they must be doing the right thing. If so many countries want to participate in BRICS, and many countries are actually participating.” He said.
“South Africa joined, then double-digit membership, and last year in 2024 in Kazan, we also added Dialogue Partners, the concept of dialogue partners. Jaishankar said. He described countries that would like to join the BRICS Alliance even without geographical intimacy.
“We are the exception to the usual rules in which groups are formed. In countries that usually approximate geographically with one another, or have a certain shared history or some kind of ethnic or linguistic commonality, this is the basis for creating a normal group. Currently, the BRICS Alliance ignores all these assumptions. So it’s not like the federal, not like the NATO, not like the G7. It’s not like the earlier conceptualised.” He said.
