Video games always have unexpected success. Over the past few years, we’ve seen everything from Baratoro and the Fatal Company to the launch of Vampire Survivors and Heldy Bar 2, to far more topics than anyone would foresee. One of the surprise hits of the year is a game about digging holes. This, as the name suggests, clearly conveys a digital experience of innate humans digging holes underground. Nowadays, rival games are emerging to follow up on games about delving into Hall’s success, as always. It’s called Keep diggingand it was just released in steam.

Keep Digging is basically the same kind of literal sandbox game as its inspiration, and can be played as part of a crew of enthusiastic dirt chuckers controlled by either AI or up to seven real people. Naturally, the goal is to dig as deep as possible, find the necessary materials to upgrade gear such as shovels, ropes, dynamite, and continue digging further into the Earth.

There are some wrinkles in the game about digging holes formulas that keep digging, such as the ability to create characters and a system where NPC mates work to continue mining even when they’re not playing. So far, that reception has been pretty warm. On Steam, Keep Digging has a 77% or “almost positive” user score, but some players have performance issues and poor players invite the system.

If you want to try it yourself, Keep Digging will be released on Steam and will reduce the price to USD 4.49/£3.86 with a 10% launch discount. Get a copy here.
