Thousands of fans gather for Los Angeles Dodgers victory parade

Thousands of fans began lining the streets of downtown Los Angeles early Monday morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of the city’s back-to-back World Series title.

It was scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. and run through downtown, followed by a rally at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers will travel on double-decker buses during the parade.

Several major roads and some bus routes in and around downtown are closed or detoured. Officials said roads in Chinatown and south of Cesar Chavez Avenue, west of Spring Street, east of the Harbor (110) Freeway and north of 8th Street will be essentially closed to traffic, according to City News Service.

He suggested using the rail system to access the parade, noting that there are seven stations near the parade route.

The 2025 Dodgers team has been a bright spot for many Angelenos in an otherwise tumultuous year for the region, after a historic firestorm destroyed thousands of homes in January, followed by a massive immigration sweep by the Trump administration over the summer.

But on Monday, two days after the Dodgers took a late lead to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays in an epic Game 7, much of Los Angeles was ready to celebrate.
