After surviving last spring, USC’s star freshman could finally return to the court as early as January, according to Trojans coach Eric Musselman.
Musselman said Thursday that Arenas’ rehabilitation from knee surgery is “progressing tremendously.”
The five-star freshman’s return will be significant news for the Trojans, who are off to their best start to the season since 2022 at 8-0. The Trojans are off to a strong start despite also missing point guard Rodney Rice, who led the team in scoring.
Although the rice remains available “from day to day,” it is expected that it will not be ready for some time. USC is also without forward Amarion Dickerson due to injury.
But Arenas’ return would immediately change the trajectory of the Trojans’ season, which is already looking pretty strong through the first eight games.
