It’s been a while, but after waiting for 8 years, Vic Brook Finally, there is a launch window. Putting a magical spin on the Stardew Valley formula, I was waiting to see this gorgeous life Sim coming through the years. Thanks to a new trailer that shows off an absolutely fantastic environment and a wide array of both magical and mundane activities, it turns out to be in the hands of players by the end of this year.
Witchbrook’s appearance in the showcase, featured today in Nintendo (still coming to PC, don’t panic) certainly surprised me. First explained in 2017 under Codename Project Spellbound. It was fully revealed in 2018. However, in 2020, despite an embarrassing desire to be one of the best games like Stardew Valley, it announced a major change in approach. It has been pretty quiet ever since. Now it’s finally ready to be shown again, and the boy looks good.
Located on the grounds of the coastal city of Mosport and the famous Vicchbrook Magic School, you will fly between the duties of young student witches and wizards, exploring and acquainting people living in the area. In true Stardew fashion, every individual NPC has a specific job, schedule, and personality. As the grade progresses and seasons come and go, Mosport evolves accordingly. Again, it’s very Stardew-like.
When classes are held, you will be busy learning magical arts to be the top of your class, including taking part in magical arts, brewing potions, and rituals. You can also fly around the broom, which is great. What makes Vitchbrook so great is that while Harry Potter fantasy is very present here, you can still live a normal look towards town. You can have a coffee, have a picnic, walk around the park, wear regular clothes, cruise over the mopeds, rather than a cloak or an interesting hat. Judging by trailers, local businesses can also support local businesses in what appears to be courier-style jobs. However, the quick waves of the wand can create magical moments.
In the forest on the outskirts of Mosport, you can also build your home in a charming old cottage. The land around the cottage can also be transformed into the garden of your dreams.
Witchbrook will arrive on Steam along with the Nintendo Switch and Xbox in the winter of 2025. You can also play your game pass on the first day, so if you subscribe, you can jump in immediately at no additional cost.
Until then, there are plenty of other great relaxation and life games that you can get lost instead.
